Herd offensive line coach leaving for Middle Tennessee
Advertiser

Marshall's football program has another coaching vacancy after offensive line coach Geep Wade accepted a position at Middle Tennessee State.

Wade joins the staff of new coach Rick Stockstill and becomes the second Thundering Herd coach to move to the Sun Belt Conference. Earlier this week, strength and conditioning coach Joe Miday took a job with Bobby Petrino's new staff at Western Kentucky.

Should Wade stay that long, he would  return to Conference USA. Middle Tennessee is headed to the conference in 2014, but could come on board a year earlier. That issue is reportedly to be settled later this month.

Wade's exit gives Marshall coach Doc Holliday three vacancies to fill. Besides the strength coach spot vacated by Miday, a spot appears to be open to coach the Herd's linebackers. New defensive coordinator Chuck Heater will specialize in the secondary, with Todd Hartley possibly helping in that area.
