WVU, Herd baseball schedules include Charleston visits

West Virginia's Big 12 slate starts at Kansas State March 15-17 and the Mountaineers will play nine conference games in Charleston, including three-game sets with Texas Tech (March 22-24), Oklahoma (May 3-5) and TCU (May 10-12).

The Mountaineers will also play a home-and-home against rival Pitt, with the first being held at Pittsburgh on March 12 and the second in Morgantown on April 30.

  • Marshall announced its 2013 baseball schedule on Friday, which will include five preseason top-40 opponents and six 2012 NCAA Regional selections.

    The schedule includes games against No. 8 Kentucky, No. 20 Rice, No. 36 Southern Miss, No. 37 East Carolina and No. 38 Coastal Carolina in addition to three games (March 19, April 2 and May 14) against West Virginia.

    The Herd will again be calling Charleston home for the majority of its Conference USA games. Marshall will host series against UAB (March 29-31), Houston (April 5-7) and Tulane (April 26-28) at Appalachian Power Park. MU's home series against East Carolina will be at Linda K. Epling Stadium in Beckley.

    Marshall will open its season Friday, Feb. 15 with a three-game series at future Conference USA member Old Dominion in Norfolk, Va.
