CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Marshall has moved to fill the unexpected vacancy on its coaching staff by hiring Tennessee-Chattanooga defensive coordinator Adam Fuller, according to a published report.

The Chattanooga Times Free Press said Fuller resigned Wednesday after four years under coach Russ Huesman. Under his guidance, the Mocs' defense ranked second in the Southern Conference in total defense (308.4 total yards per game) and scoring defense (20.4 points) in 2012.

Also known as a solid recruiter in the state of Florida, Fuller replaces Anthony Midget, whose stay in Huntington numbered a mere 10 days. Shortly after Midget arrived in Huntington, he was offered a position at Penn State.

Position responsibilities have not been defined under new defensive coordinator Chuck Heater.
