Gazette, readers score with Big 12 consortium
Advertiser

BACK ON July 2, West Virginia University President Jim Clements was in the midst of his school's celebration as a new Big 12 member.

He beamed while talking of the benefits to making the move.

"Not just athletically, but academically," Clements said.

Little did we know, the move would also benefit Gazette readers.

As the state's leading newspaper and sports section, we've been invited to participate in a prestigious Big 12 consortium of our own. And Gazette readers will reap the rewards.

The quick skinny? If you follow the WVU Mountaineers and are reading this online, subscribe to the print edition of the Gazette. Pronto. Today. Now. Pick up your cell, call 304-348-4800 and tell the kindly soul that answers you'd like to start a subscription.

If have a subscription, if you're getting newsprint on your fingers as you read this, well, it's your lucky day.

Here's the deal. In an effort to bring readers the very best Big 12 coverage, some of the best newspapers in the country, specifically those in the Big 12 "footprint," have banded together to share coverage of the teams in their front yards.
