Soccer roundup: Hurricane boys blank Buckhannon-Upshur

Tomoki Suzuki and Colin Miles scored two goals apiece to lead Hurricane past Buckhannon-Upshur 6-0 in boys high school soccer Saturday.

Cameron Keenan and Scott Holmes chipped in a goal each for the Redskins (15-3), who outshot the Buccaneers 25-0. Zack Lewis had eight saves for the B-U (1-16-1).

  • RIVERSIDE 5, SPRING VALLEY 1: Derek Ash and Justin Casto each had a goal and an assist to drive the Warriors to the home victory.
  • Jakob Sandner, Cody Ray and Adam Daugherty had a goal apiece for the Warriors (9-7). Dakota McCoy scored for the Timberwolves (8-11).

  • CROSS LANES 2, SOUTH CHARLESTON 0: Dustin Harper and Eric Larch each netted a goal for host Cross Lanes Christian.
  • Daniel McCormick recorded six saves to secure the shutout for the Warriors (14-3-3).

    Friday's game

  • CROSS LANES 7, GRACE 1: Caleb George and Nick Clark had two goals each for Cross Lanes Christian. Dustin Harper, J.D.
  • Thompson and Micah Moles added goals for the Warriors (13-3-3).

    Girls

  • POINT PLEASANT 4, CROSS LANES 0: Alea Hipes scored two goals for the host Black Knights. Marly Nowlin and Katie Wilson pitched in a goal each for Point (9-8-2) while Aron Hart needed just one save for the shutout.  
  • B-U 3, HURRICANE 1: Buckhannon-Upshur netted three goals in the second half for the home win.
  • Courtney Underwood scored an unassisted goal for the Redskins (9-6-1) to knot the game at 1-all.
