  • HURRICANE 10, TEAYS VALLEY 0: Felipe Thompson scored three goals and added two assists as the host Redskins downed Teays Valley Christian.  Rodrigo Bevaqua  and Alex White pitched in two goals apiece for Hurricane (4-0) while Loran Meadows, Ian Miles and Avery Meadows scored once each. James Snavely had two assists and Brady Lawman made two saves for the shutout. Lulu Maer stopped two shots for Teays Valley (2-1).
  • SC 3, OAK HILL 1: Keeper Hunter Moles stopped four shots in earning the shutout and also scored on a penalty kick for host South Charleston at Oakes Field. Jared Butler and Jonah Cosby added the other goals for the Black Eagles (2-1), with each score assisted by Isaac Cosby. Ausin Nolen had the lone goal for the Red Devils.
  • WINFIELD 4, PRINCETON 0: Preston Sheldon netted a pair of goals as the Generals (4-0) downed the host Tigers (2-2). Steven Taylor and Jonah Sneeringer recorded single goals for Winfield. Princeton keeper Luke Lilly stopped eight shots, while Bryce Boggs made three saves for the Generals.
  • Football - Friday's games

  • SOUTH 42, RIPLEY 28: Tyler Bolen threw for 215 yards and a touchdown and also ran for two scores to pace host Parkersburg South to a season-opening win over visiting Ripley.
  • Bolen completed 19 of 30 attempts and Braxton Johnson added two TD runs for South.

    For the Vikings, Trevor Tucker hit on 15 of 26 passes for 225 yards and three TDs, with scoring tosses of 20 yards to Tyler Kidd and Kade Harrison and one of 57 yards to Jake Martin.

  • LOGAN 33, MAN 0: Tyler Vernatter ran for two short touchdowns and the host Wildcats forced seven turnovers in downing their county rival.
  • Worm Street added a 43-yard scoring run for Logan, while Brant Williams returned a kickoff 80 yards for a TD and Clayton Marcus brought back an interception 60 yards for a score.

    Vernatter also had 13 tackles to lead a defense that intercepted the Hillbillies four times, recovered three fumbles and recorded three sacks.
