The Golden Bears have won four volleyball state championships in program history - 2011, 2008 in Class AA and back-to-back in 1997 and 1998 in Class AA-A.

Their opponent in today's title match, Ritchie County, will be looking for its second state championship. The Rebels beat Frankfort for the 2009 championship.

Oak Glen and Ritchie County have met in the state championship game before. The Golden Bears beat the Rebels for the title in 1997.

  • Williamstown and Tyler Consolidated will play for the Class A state championship.

The Yellow Jackets got there by beating Pendleton County in the quarterfinals and Magnolia in the semifinals. The Silver Knights had to go through Fayetteville and East Hardy to set up the match against Williamstown.

Tyler Consolidated has won one state championship in program history (2007 in Class AA) while Williamstown, last year's runner-up, also has one state crown (2004).
