"Last year, when I started coaching Charleston Catholic, I was talking to a referee who traveled a long distance to ref the game and I asked him, 'Why did you travel this far to ref a game?' And his response, 'I came to watch No. 7 play because the kid is so fast.'''

Because of his hard play, he has become the lone player in West Virginia to win four state championships in soccer.

Rounding out the rest of the Class AA-A first team is goalies Matt Bartrug of Fairmont Senior and Garret Bulter of Williamstown. Bartrug rattled off eight shutouts on the season. Butler tallied 116 saves, seven shutouts and allowed only 15 goals all season.

Revercomb, Logan Demyon of Fairmont Senior and Zach Wise (Berkeley Springs) are the all-state forwards. Demyon capped his career with 16 goals and five assists on the season.

The midfielder department is led by Jesse Roman of East Fairmont; Adam Fox (Charleston Catholic); Quinton Brown (PikeView); and Parker White (Pocahontas).

On defense, four players represent the pack - Trevor Moon (Bridgeport); Grant Holbert (Fairmont Senior); Alex Testerman (PikeView); and Domenic Cipollone (Charleston Catholic).

Moon was known as the shutout defender for the Indians. In Bridgeport's state championship season, he scored five goals and tallied two assists. Cipollone led a defense that had 12 shutouts and surrendered only 20 goals.

For Fairmont Senior, Holbert was the anchor who carried the defense and he produced some offense of his own, finishing the season with four goals. Testerman had a doozy of a junior year while nailing four goals and three assists.

The Class AA-A all-state second team is led by Fairmont Senior's Fletcher DeVaul, who was named captain.

Also on the second team are goalies Tyler Schiefelbein (Philip Barbour) and Brett Matheny (East Fairmont); forwards Brandon Hanlon (Bridgeport), Levi Perkins (East Fairmont) and Kenny Muhart (Weir); midfielders Joey Reese (Bridgeport), Joey Trupo (Charleston Catholic), DeVaul (Fairmont Senior) and Brian Conaty (St. Joseph); and defenders Chad Hensley (Weir), Justin Sloan (Fairmont Senior); Evan Goetz (St. Joseph) and Jon Brown (Bluefield).
