Prep roundup: Eddy scores 32 as GW defeats Logan 54-49

Luke Eddy accumulated 32 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists as George Washington picked up a 54-49 boys basketball win Friday night at Logan.

Austin Breeden contributed 10 points for the Patriots (4-2), who led 33-22 at halftime.

Chase Preston scored 14 points and A.J. Reynolds had 13 for the Wildcats (2-4).

  • WINFIELD 70, HURRICANE 66: Down by 12 points at halftime, Winfield rallied in the second half to win at Hurricane.
  • Zach Fisher scored 25 points to lead the Generals (4-2), who trailed 33-21 at the break but outscored the Redskins 23-13 in the third quarter and 26-20 in the fourth.

    Brock Pence added 16 points, Chris Turner had 13 and Toby Show 12 for Winfield.

    Henry Sorsaia totaled 16 points to lead Hurricane (4-2), Trey Dawson had 15 and Garrett Defries 13.

  • GREENBRIER EAST 73, CAPITAL 62: Led by Rondell Watson's 38 points, Greenbrier East rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat Capital in the Spartan Invitational in Lewisburg.
  • In improving to 7-0, the Spartans outscored the Cougars (2-5) 16-11 in the third quarter and 21-8 in the fourth. Obi Romeo added 16 points for Greenbrier East, which will oppose Metrolina Christian in the championship game at about 7 p.m. today.

    For Capital, Carrington Morris scored 20 points, Miquel Bays contributed 13 and Aalik Harris had 13.

    Capital will play Trinity Christian at 3 p.m. today in the consolation game.

  • METROLINA CHRISTIAN 77, TRINITY CHRISTIAN 69: Metrolina Christian of Indian Trail, N.C., overcame a four-point fourth-quarter deficit to force overtime and defeat Trinity Christian of Morgantown in the Spartan Invitational in Lewisburg.
  • Josh Dominguez scored 31 points, Tyrell Nelson had 25 and Alec Bross 15 for Metrolina (10-5), which will face Greenbrier East in the championship game at about 7 p.m. today.

    Anthony Ghiardi had 32 points and Cody Triplett 20 for Trinity (4-3), which will meet Capital at 3 p.m. today in the consolation game.

  • CHARLESTON CATH-OLIC 46, BRAXTON 32: Nick George scored 20 points to lead host Charleston Catholic to a 46-32 win over Braxton County in the Charleston Catholic Showcase Saturday at the Charleston Catholic Athletic Complex.
  • Garrett McCarty added 12 points for the Irish (3-1). Austin Rhodes scored 15 to lead the Eagles (1-2).

  • BUFFALO 62, ROANE 59: Isaiah Robinson made 1 of 2 free throws with 6.4 seconds left in the game as Buffalo upended Roane County in the championship game of the Wirt County Holiday Tournament.
  • Robinson finished with 16 points for the Bison (7-0), while Laythen Good had a team-high 19 points and Levi Jordan 14. Jacob Neal netted 24 points for Roane County (5-2).

  • ELKINS 56, RIPLEY 50: Logan Phillips poured in 24 points and Colby Gainer contributed 10 as Elkins posted a home win.
  • Casey Smith paced the Vikings with 14 points while Kade Harrison and Drew Harpold added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

  • CHAPMANVILLE 94, MAN 44: Mackenzie Martin erupted for 30 points as Chapmanville recorded a win in the Bob Runyon Memorial Tournament in Chapmanville.
  • Michael Hurst tallied 16 points for the Tigers (2-3) while Kenny Plumley had 14. John Keffer had a team-high 23 points for Man.

  • PARK. SOUTH 73, ALLEGANY (MD.) 55: Parkersburg South won for the second consecutive night at the Sentinel Classic in Cumberland, Md.
  • The Patriots (5-1) were led by a 21-point effort from Wes Mitchem. Also for South, Cody Monroe chipped in 13 points and Logan Cox finished with 10.

    Allegany's Colton Civic and Bryce Nightingale each had 12 points in the loss.

  • WAHAMA 83, HANNAN 45: Wahama outscored visiting Hannain 40-19 in the first half on its way to the lopsided win.
  • Hunter Bradley paced the White Falcons (2-4) with 18 points and 11 rebounds while Trenton Gibbs chipped in with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

    For Hannan (2-5), Paul Holley was the leading scored with 14 points.

  • LIBERTY (R) 91, SHERMAN 71: Liberty jumped out to a 24-point halftime lead on its way to the win at Sherman.
