Trevor McGee scored 23 points and Levi Cook had 20 to lead Liberty (1-1). Austin Lyons and Michael Prater each finished with 10 points for the Raiders.

Cody Muncy scored 23 points to lead Sherman (3-3).

  • NICHOLAS 66, CLAY 55: Jared Tharp had 20 points and Austin Hill scored 16 to lead Nicholas County to the win at Clay County.
  • Andrew Ray added 12 points for the Grizzlies. For Clay (2-4), Stephen Cole was the leading scorer with 20 points, followed by Michael Shamblin with 12. Chris Cole and Storm Carver each scored 10 for the Panthers.

  • WYOMING EAST 73, FAIRMONT SENIOR 63: Host Wyoming East jumped out to an 18-9 first-quarter lead and held on for the win in the Family Healthcare Classic.
  • Christian Hedinger netted 26 points for the Warriors (5-1), while Josh Tunstalle contributed 11. For the Polar Bears (3-3), Jarin Hilson recorded 22 points and DeVante Waites had 21.

  • HAMPSHIRE 73, FRANKFORT 38: After leading by nine at halftime, Hampshire broke the game open in the second half to defeat visiting Frankfort.
  • Leading the Hampshire scoring were Dane Heavener with 23 points, Travis Clower with 19 and Logan Hill with 10. The Trojans improved to 4-3.

    Gage Schaffer scored 14 to lead Frankfort.

  • LINCOLN COUNTY 39, BUCKHANNON-UPSHUR 37: Lincoln County trailed by a point entering the fourth quarter but moved past Buckhannon-Upshur in the Ritchie County Holiday Tournament.
  • P.J. Arbaugh scored 20 points to lead the Panthers (4-3), who lost their first three games of the season but have won four in a row. Tyler Jeffers added 11 points.

    John McDaniels scored 12 points and Dalton Westfall had 10 for the B-U (1-6).

  • BELFRY 80, TUG VALLEY 76: Sean Hurley exploded for 24 points as Belfry (Ky.) downed Tug Valley in the Belfry Invitational.
  • Josh Robinson added 21 points for Belfry. Mikey Newsome had 14 for the Panthers, while Austin Brewer and Thomas Baisden both had 14.

    Girls

  • CHARLESTON CATH-OLIC 49, POCA 40: Host Charleston Catholic outscored Poca 33-16 in the second half and pulled out a win over the Dots in the Charleston Catholic Showcase Friday at the Charleston Catholic Athletic Complex.
  • Madison Helmick and Hanna Whelan each scored 11 points for the Fighting Irish (3-4), with Whelan grabbing nine rebounds. Simone Assaley added 10 points and eight rebounds and Samantha Fletcher had nine points, four assists and four steals for Catholic.

    Poca (3-6) was led by Paula Ord's game-high 16 points.

  • GREENBRIER EAST 73, MIDLAND TRAIL 20: Chaunte McDowell scored 20 points to lead host Greenbrier East at the Spartan Invitational at Fairlea.
  • Dianca Andre added 13 points and Elizabeth Romeo scored 12 for the Spartans, who remain unbeaten at 6-0. Emily Carte led Midland Trail (1-4) with nine points.

    Greenbrier East will face Amelia (Va.) in the championship game at 5 p.m. today. Midland Trail takes on Shady Spring in the consolation game at 1 p.m.

  • AMELIA 53, SHADY 36: Jasmine Mitchell poured in 27 points to lead Amelia (Va.) past Shady Spring in the Spartan Invitational.
  • Takia Williams added 15 points for Amelia (8-1), which will face host Greenbrier East in the title game at 5 p.m. today. Shady Spring (1-7) was led by Morgan Hylton (21 points) and Kaylee Dickenson (12).

  • RAVENSWOOD 48, RIPLEY 44: Taylor Youell, Taylor Treadway and Melonna Carmichael each scored nine points as Ravenswood (5-3) downed Ripley in the consolation game of the Rob Hudson Memorial Tournament at Ripley.
  • Sarah Williams netted 18 for the Vikings (0-7).

  • NICHOLAS 56, PIKEVIEW 37: Shaelyn Shafer finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Grizzlies (7-1) over visiting PikeView.
  • Lauren Young added 10 points and 10 rebounds for Nicholas, while Lyndsey Hatfield scored 13 points to lead PikeView.
