Keke Walker scored 15 points and had four steals to help lead Capital to a 59-45 girls basketball win over visiting Nitro Wednesday.
Khadijah Lee scored 10 points while Dashia Foster had seven points and 11 rebounds and Katie Crowder scored six points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Cougars (5-4).
Savannah Shamblin led Nitro (5-4) with 15 points.
BUFFALO 83, WAHAMA 39: Buffalo's Chelsey Parkins set a school single-game scoring record with 35 points and also connected 19 rebounds in the lopsided win. Tiffani Bailey added 12 points for the Bison (6-4), while Rachel Rogue and Danielle LaMichael led visiting Wahama with 10 points apiece.
PRINCETON 58, HURRICANE 42: McKenzie Akers scored 14 points and Hannah Preservati added 14 points and nine rebounds to lead Class AAA No. 5 Princeton (8-1) to the win against visiting Hurricane. For the Redskins (4-5), Abby Watson scored 21 points.
WESTSIDE 89, SHADY SPRING 14: Hope Lester scored 25 points to help keep Westside undefeated. Faith Davis scored 22 and Danielle Brown had 15 points for the Class AA No. 1 Renegades (9-0). For Shady Spring, Morgan Hylton scored a team-high eight points.
LOGAN 47, SC 36: Monica Mitchell notched 14 points for the visiting Wildcats. Shayna Gore chipped in 11 points for Logan (6-2), which has won five straight. Lina Villanueva and Alliyah Webb had nine points apiece for South Charleston (6-6).
ST. ALBANS 61, RIPLEY 37: St. Albans scored 17 points in the third quarter and 21 in the fourth to pull away in the second half and notch a road win at Ripley. Breanna Propst scored 33 points to lead the Red Dragons (5-4). For Ripley (0-8), Chelsea Hagen had 12 points.
CLAY 94, WIRT 52: Stephen Cole set a Clay County school record with 23 rebounds while also scoring 17 points in the win against visiting Wirt County. Also for the Panthers (5-5), Eric McGlothin had 24 points and Chris Cole scored 14. Caleb Bell led Wirt with 20 points.
