Prep roundup: O’Dell leads Catholic girls

Christina O'Dell tallied 14 points and eight rebounds as Charleston Catholic downed host Poca 43-29 Monday in girls high school basketball.

Samantha Fletcher also contributed 13 points for the Fighting Irish (5-7).

McKenzie Ball had eight points for the Dots (4-8).

  • SPRING VALLEY 51, GW 41: The host Timberwolves used a 17-2 run in the second half en route to their ninth straight win.
  • Sarah Kelly tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds for AAA No. 5 Spring Valley (9-2) and Madison Morris and Kassidy Lemons added 11 points apiece. Morris also grabbed 12 boards.

    Kelli Jo Harrison led all scorers with 18 points and landed 13 rebounds for No. 10 George Washington (6-4), which pulled within 24-22 early in the third quarter.

  • LOGAN 52, TOLSIA 47: The Wildcats jumped out to a 13-5 lead after the opening quarter and never looked back.
  • Shayna Gore turned in a game-high 25 points to go along with six assists and nine rebounds for Class AAA Logan (7-3) and Monica Mitchell added 15 points and 11 boards.

    Savannah Winnett scored 15 points and 11 rebounds for AA No. 10 Tolsia (8-3) and Krista Maynard tallied 14 and 12 boards.

  • WESTSIDE 65, SUMMERS COUNTY 32: Hope Lester scored 20 points and Megan Endicott contributed 10 points and 11 rebounds as Class AA No. 1 Westside (11-0) rolled to a home victory.
  • Brandy Morrison had 12 points for Summers County.

  • MOUNT VIEW 76, LIBERTY RALEIGH 22: Jordan Younger, Gezelle Brown, and Keisha Johnson each had 12 points as Mount View coasted at home. Jasmine Lash had 11 points for the Golden Knights and Tamia Joyce pitched in with 10 points.
  • Stacy Williams had 12 points for Liberty Raleigh.

  • SHERMAN 57, GREATER BECKLEY 32: Visiting Sherman led 34-16 at halftime and cruised. Jordan Lewis scored 17 points to lead all scorers while Sarah Massey chipped in 16 for the Tide (6-6).
  • Jana Lehman scored 10 points to lead Greater Beckley Christian.

  • TEAYS VALLEY 36, HANNAN 30: Olivia Moore had 12 points and visiting Teays Valley Christian scored a win on the road.
  • Chelsea Meadows led all scorers with 15 points for Hannan.

  • CLAY 63, SOUTH HARRISON 3: Brittany Gould poured in 23 points for host Clay County (12-1).
