PARKERSBURG, W.Va. -- Huntington had five weight-class champions Saturday and rolled to the team title at the Mountain State Athletic Conference wrestling tournament at Parkersburg High School.

The Highlanders wound up with 253 points, far outdistancing runner-up Parkersburg (180) and third-place Ripley (1141/2). Huntington is the state's top-ranked Class AAA team in the West Virginia Wrestling Coaches Association/wvmat.com poll.

The Kanawha Valley produced just two individual titlists in the meet, but both were notable.

George Washington's Jake Smith, a defending state champ, won at 160 pounds and was selected as the meet's outstanding wrestler. Winfield's Bryce Humphreys landed a title to beat a star-studded field at 126.

Parkersburg's Chris Way was chosen as the MSAC coach of the year.

Huntington's titlists were Logan Grass (106), Jordan Allen (113), Jonathan Spence (120), Billy Waldeck (138) and Justin Arthur (145). Four Ripley athletes won championships.
