Girls roundup: Whelan, Fletcher lead Charleston Catholic to win

  • LOGAN 69, LINCOLN COUNTY 42: Monica Mitchell had 19 points and 17 rebounds in leading visiting Logan to a win.
  • Shayna Gore contributed 12 points and 12 assists for the Wildcats (11-6) and Hannah Tothe chipped in 12 points. Taylor Lucas paced Lincoln County with 12 points.

  • SHERMAN 56, RICHWOOD 48: Sarah Massey scored 20 points and Jordan Lewis 19 as Sherman (7-10) downed visiting Richwood.
  • Breanna Mazzella netted 19 points for Richwood and Hannah Green had 10.

  • NICHOLAS 68, WEBSTER 35: Shealyn Shafer led all scorers with 22 points as host Nicholas County cruised. Mykenzie Martin and Nicole Hamilton each tallied 14 points for the Class AA No. 3 Grizzlies.
  • Samantha Stout's 11 points led Webster County (10-8) and Brandi Clevenger tossed in 10.

  • PARKERSBURG 49, RIPLEY 39: Megan Morrison netted 16 points as Parkersburg (12-8) downed host Ripley.
  • Chelsey Hager had 14 points for the Vikings (0-18).

  • MINGO CENTRAL 49, BELFRY 43: The Miners held host Belfry (Ky.) to 16 points combined in the second and third quarters.
  • Ashley Curry and Hannah Church totaled eight points apiece for Mingo Central (9-9).

  • BETH HAVEN 45, SC CHRISTIAN 31: Ashton Fry had a game-high 16 points and Megan Toppings added 10 for visiting Beth Haven Christian.
  • Amanda Carver scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for South Charleston Christian (5-10) and Haileah Light scored 10 points.

  • ELK VALLEY 45, GRACE 27: Katie Burdette scored 13 and Hannah Williams finished with 12 points to lead Elk Valley Christian (13-8) to a road win.
  • Shelby Cicenas led Grace Christian (10-4) with 10 points.

    Thursday's girls games

  • MINGO 43, BELFRY 35: Freshman Caitlin Cantrell scored 12 points to help Mingo Central hold off visiting Belfry (Ky.).
  • Chrissy Farmer finished with nine points and Hannah Church scored six in the win for the Miners.

  • TUCKER 68, POCAHONTAS 51: Amber Evans and Stephanie Betler scored 17 points apiece as host Tucker County won a showdown between Class A top-10 teams.
  •  Savannah Ambrose added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the No. 5 Mountain Lions (13-4). Bobbie McNabb, Heather Snead and Melissa Murphy each scored 12 points for No. 6 Pocahontas County (12-5).
