Girls basketball sectionals heat up tonight in Valley

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The girls high school basketball sectional tournaments will be heating up tonight in the Kanawha Valley.

South Charleston visits Capital in Class AAA Region 3 Section semifinals while George Washington, No. 9 in the final Associated Press poll, takes on Riverside. Both games are at 7 p.m.

St. Albans hosts Nitro in a cross-river rivalry in semis of AAA Region 4 Section 1 while Point Pleasant visits Winfield. Both games begin at 7:30 p.m.

No. 5 Clay County and Sissonville hook up at 6 p.m. in AA Region 4 Section at Poca, followed by No. 3 Nicholas County facing Poca at approximately 8 p.m.

Buffalo visits Charleston Catholic at 7:30 p.m. in Class A Region 4 Section. (See Page 2B for pairings.)
