For Herbert Hoover, Sam Schoolcraft scored a career-high 30 points. The Huskies played without leading scorer Cody Morris (out with an ankle injury), a key reserve and another starter, Joey Forbes, missed about half the game with foul trouble.

  • SOUTH 72, BELPRE 38: Wes Mitchem tallied 21 points as Class AAA No. 6 Parkersburg South downed visiting Belpre, Ohio.
  • Doug Dennis also contributed 13 points for the Patriots (18-4). Ryan Leasure and Nick Therriault had 10 points apiece for Belpre (14-8).

  •   LINCOLN COUNTY 70, SHERMAN 55: T.J. Arbaugh posted a triple-double of 18 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists as Lincoln County won at home.
  • The Panthers (11-11) also received a double-double from Andrew Davis (25 points, 10 rebounds), while Skylar Kelley had 13 points. Cody Muncy was the lone Tide player in double figures with 13 points.

  • WAHAMA 54, WATERFORD 44: Trenton Gibbs exploded for 24 points as Wahama (10-12) picked up a home win. Brian Moore paced Waterford (Ohio) with 11 points.

  • WESTSIDE 77, SUMMERS 42: Five players scored in double figures for Westside (22-1) as the Renegades beat Summers County in Class AA Region 3 Section 1.
  • Hope Lester led Westside with 17 points, Danielle Brown finished with 15 points and Megan Endicott 12. Morgan Spolarich and Kristin Hash each accounted for 10 points in the win. For Summers County (15-9), Avery Pivont had 17 points and Tyra Wynes 13.

  • POCAHONTAS 67, EAST HARDY 29: Olivia Workman netted 23 points as Pocahontas Country earned a Class A Region 2 Section 2 home win. Melissa Murphy chipped in 13 points for the Warriors (16-5). Marilyn Cassell paced East Hardy (6-16) with 16 points.
  • Pocahontas County faces the winner of Pendleton County-Moorefield Saturday at 7 p.m. for the section championship at Petersburg High School.

  • TUG VALLEY 58, MAN 37: Adreana Vance produced a game-high 20 points as Tug Valley downed Man in the Class A Region 3 Section 1 title game at Man.
  • Amber Linville added 13 points for the Panthers while Whitney Evans-Kirk had 11. Summer Sword paced the Hillbillies with 12 points.
