Prep roundup: Greenbrier East girls remain unbeaten with section final win

Bianca Andre' had 29 points and 21 rebounds to lead unbeaten Greenbrier East past Princeton 68-51 in a Class AAA Region 3 Section 2 girls basketball game Friday night in Fayetteville.

Elizabeth Romeo added 15 points, and Shaunte McDowell had 14 for the Spartans (24-0), who will play host to Capital at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the regional.

Mckenzie Akers had 21 points and Khadja Payne 11 for the Tigers (18-5), who will play at George Washington Tuesday.

  • ST. JOSEPH 80, CATHOLIC 30: St. Joseph outscored Charleston Catholic 33-2 in the second quarter and cruised to a Class A Region 4 Section 2 victory at Buffalo. Griffin Dempsey scored 27 points and Mychal Johnson added 23 for St. Joe. Hanna Whelan had 11 and Samantha Fletcher 10 for the Irish (8-16).
  • SA 30, WINFIELD 27: St. Albans held host Winfield scoreless in the second quarter and hung on for a Class AAA Region 4 Section 1 championship. Breanna Propst, Lexie Cooper and Cameron Davis each scored eight points for the Red Dragons (14-10), who will host Logan in a Region 4 co-final.
  • Micha Thompson had nine points to lead all scorers for the Generals, who will travel to Spring Valley in the other Region 4 co-final.

  • SPRING VALLEY 68, LOGAN 67: Spring Valley survived a strong Logan finish for a Class AAA Region 4 Section 2 victory at Huntington. Madison Morris scored 22 points,and Brooke Heck and Sarah Kelly added 12 each for Spring Valley (20-3), which hosts Winfield in the regional at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
  • Shayna Gore had 36 points and 10 assists and Monica Mitchell contributed 18 points and 16 rebounds for the Wildcats (14-9), who play at St. Albans at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

  • TOLSIA 46, SCOTT 38: Krista Maynard finished with 21 points and Savannah Winnett 10 to lead Tolsia (21-3) to the Class AA Region 4 Section 2 title at Logan. Ali Whitman scored 15 points to lead Scott (15-9).
  • SOUTH 72, WHEELING PARK 44: Keya Bartlett  tallied 25 points as visiting Parkersburg South claimed the Class AAA Region 1 Section 1 title. Miranda Workman chipped in 20 points for the Patriots (16-7) and Taryn McCutcheon had 17. Haley Robb scored a team-high 17 points for Wheeling Park. Parkersburg South will host University and Park will visit Morgantown Tuesday in the Region 1 co-finals.
  • PARK. CHRISTIAN 42, SC CHRISTIAN 29: Angel Dahn scored nine points to lead Parkersburg Christian (5-9) to the win at South Charleston Christian. For SCC (6-12), Amanda Carver had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
  • RAVENSWOOD 58, BRAXTON 37: Hailey Miller and Melonna Carmichael netted 14 points apiece as Ravenswood picked up a Class AA Region 1 Section 2 title. Hunter Sodaro paced host Braxton County with 16 points.
