Prep roundup: South Charleston tops Wheeling Park in overtime

Hunter Moles netted 23 points as South Charleston edged Wheeling Park 62-58 in overtime in boys basketball Saturday night in Wheeling.

Devon Harris chipped in 13 points for the Black Eagles (20-2). Ryan Reinbeau paced Wheeling Park (10-12) with 16 points.

  • SHERMAN 88, VAN 56: Blake Brewer had 33 points and Cody Muncy scored 15 as Sherman (8-13) beat visiting Van in the Class A Region 3 Section 1 tournament. For the Bulldogs (2-18), Brandon Elswick had a game-high 33 points.

  • RITCHIE 69, ROANE 63: Andrew Davis scored 21 points and Justin Sage added 19 as Ritchie County earned a close win at home to close out the regular season. D.J. Burgess added 15 points for the Rebels (17-5). Jacob Neal's 24 points paced Roane County (14-7) while Tyler Harper scored 13.

  • POCAHONTAS 63, PENDLETON 60: Heather Snead netted 22 points as Pocahontas County earned a Class A Region 2 Section 2 win over Pendleton County at Petersburg. Melissa Murphy contributed 12 points for the Warriors (17-5) while Danielle Gray scored 16 for Pendleton County (12-8). Pocahontas County will host Tygarts Valley and Pendleton will travel to Tucker County for the Region 4 co-finals  Thursday.

  • CLAY 58, POCA 47: Lauren Young netted 20 points as Nicholas County downed to win the Class AA Region 4 Section 1 championship at Poca. Shealyn Shafer added 17 for the Grizzlies (19-3), who will host Scott at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Region 4 co-final. Brittany Gould paced the Panthers (16-6) with 23 points while Mckinzee Barker chipped in 15. Clay County will travel to Tolsia Wednesday in the other co-final.
