Martinsburg, Bluefield, Tug Valley top final boys poll

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Martinsburg (Class AAA), Bluefield (AA) and Tug Valley (A) were the top-ranked teams in this years final Associated Press high school boys basketball state polls, released Monday.

Martinsburg received nine of the 10 first-place votes in AAA to give the Bulldogs the top spot over No. 2 Woodrow Wilson. No. 3 South Charleston received the other first-place vote, while Washington and Parkersburg South rounded out the top five. Also in the AAA top 10 were George Washington (6th) and Hurricane (10th). Bluefield was a unanimous choice in AA, followed by Fairmont Senior, Robert C. Byrd, Westside, Wyoming East and Poca.

Charleston Catholic finished No. 2 behind Tug Valley in Class A, with Buffalo (8th) and Valley (10th) included in the top 10.
