SC-East boys regional game postponed

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- South Charleston is going to have wait another couple of days to see if it's going to the boys basketball state tournament.

The Black Eagles' Class AAA Region 3 co-final against Greenbrier East at the SC Community Center was postponed Tuesday because of the threat of wintry weather hitting portions of the state overnight.

The game is now set for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Community Center.

"From what I understand,'' said SC coach Vic Herbert, "Greenbrier East would have no trouble getting here to play, but could have major problems getting back home. So we'll just have to wait. It doesn't matter to us.''

The winners of all regional games across the state this week earn spots in the March 13-16 state tournament at the Charleston Civic Center.
