LINCOLN CO. 6, CHAPMANVILLE 0: Brooke West produced a pair of doubles and an RBI as Lincoln County won at home. Morgan Hutchison added two hits for the Panthers (7-2). Cydnee Lambert went 1 for 3 with a double for Chapmanville.
LINCOLN CO. 9, CABELL MIDLAND 7: Sarah Barrett and Megan Tully each had four hits to help Lincoln County secure a home win over Cabell Midland. Morgan Hutchison added three hits for the Panthers (8-2) while Brooke West, Amy Parsons and Sarah Pennington had two hits apiece. Morgan Kelley went 3 for 4 with two home runs and four RBIs for the Knights and Jenny Brumfield added two hits, including a home run.
SA 8, PRINCETON 0: Ali Haynes and Katie Holstein combined on a five-inning no-hitter for host St. Albans. Haynes whiffed 10 while Mariah Caudill and Holstein laced two hits apiece for the Red Dragons (9-0).
SA 11, CAPITAL 0: Ali Haynes fired a two-hit shutout and struck out eight for host St. Albans in four innings. Haynes and Alyssa Bonham each went 2 for 3 with a double.
CATHOLIC SWEEPS: Charleston Catholic plated 12 runs in the bottom of the second en route to a 14-3 triumph in three innings over St. Joseph in the nightcap to complete a doubleheader sweep.
Talia Corbett tossed a four-inning no-hitter as Catholic took an 11-1 decision over St. Joseph in the opener.
Corbett added two RBIs and Ali Persily tripled and drove in four runs for Catholic in the first game. In the second game, Christina O'Dell went 2 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs for Catholic (4-1).
BUFFALO 1, PARK. SOUTH 0: Ali Burdette's groundout knocked in the winning run in the top of the sixth as the Bison edged AAA Parkersburg South (1-5).
Katie Higginbotham reached first base after a fielder's choice groundout then went to second on a throwing error. Burdette hit into a groundout from third to first for the second out, but Higginbotham beat the throw home to plate the run. Burdette, the winning pitcher, fanned 11. South starter Nicole Landis tossed five scoreless innings.
SA TAKES TWO: Ali Haynes drove in a run to give visiting St. Albans the lead for good in the top of the ninth, giving coach Greg Garber his 500th career victory in a 7-3 decision at Parkersburg in a doubleheader opener.
Haynes and Madi Marshall combined on a four-hit shutout in the nightcap as SA took a an 8-0 win in six innings.
Hayes, who finished 3 for 5 with a homer and four RBIs, clouted a two-run round-tripper in the top of the seventh to give the Red Dragons a 3-2 lead in the first game. The Big Reds used two SA errors to scratch out the tying run in the bottom of the frame to force extra innings. Britt Allison launched a pair of solo homers for Parkersburg. In the second game, Haynes doubled twice and knocked in a pair for the Red Dragons while Mariah Caudill rapped out three hits and drove in two.
