CHAPMANVILLE 9, CLAY 4: Host Chapmanville scored six runs over the fifth and sixth innings in a win. Brady Cox doubled and tripled for the Tigers (17-5) and Dustin Conley had three hits. Ethan Smith went 2 for 4 to lead Clay County.
BUFFALO SWEEPS: Chelsey Parkins fired a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and went 2 for 3 with two RBIs as host Buffalo downed Nitro 7-1 in the nightcap to gain a sweep of a doubleheader.
In the first game, Ali Burdette gave up three hits while striking out nine to get the win as Buffalo (25-4) prevailed 5-1. She also doubled, tripled and knocked in three runs, and Whitney Dingess rapped out three hits with two RBIs for Buffalo. Halie Miller went 2 for 3 for Nitro in the first game.
SA 9, WAYNE 5: St. Albans jumped out to a 6-0 lead en route to the victory in the Boyd County (Ky.) Tournament. Alyssa Bonham went 2 for 4 with a double for the Red Dragons and Mariah Caudill lashed two hits. Casey Endicott went 3 for 4 with a triple for the Pioneers, defending AA state champions.
SA 9, ROWAN 0: Ali Haynes fired six no-hit innings and fanned six as St. Albans defeated Rowan County (Ky.) in the Boyd County Tournament. Haynes also had two hits and Madi Marshall went 3 for 4 with a triple.
SA 7, WEST CARTER 1: Ali Haynes scattered six hits and whiffed eight for St. Albans in a win over West Carter (Ky.) at the Boyd County Tournament. Whitney Jones doubled twice for the Red Dragons.
CATHOLIC 25, NOTRE DAME 0: Briana Ross and Katie Pulliam each homered and drove in five runs as Charleston Catholic cruised to a win in two innings in Clarksburg. Christina O'Dell went 4 for 4 with four RBIs for the Irish (16-9).
CATHOLIC 17, PHILIP BARBOUR 0: Christina O'Dell and Kendall Carson each went 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs as Charleston Catholic rolled to a win in three innings in Clarksburg.
SHERMAN 10, LIBERTY RALEIGH 0: Tori May tossed a one-hit shutout for the visiting Tide's three-inning win. Haley Jarrell went 2 for 2 with a double and three RBIs for Sherman and Taylor Hendricks doubled in a pair of runs.
SHERMAN 6, NICHOLAS 0: Kylie Wells fired a six-hit shutout for the visiting Tide. Mackenzie Smith pounded out four hits, including a double, and knocked in two runs for Sherman (22-7) and Tori May doubled in two runs. Lauren Young and Maria Eberhart had two hits apiece for the Grizzlies.
RIPLEY SWEEPS SOUTH: Host Ripley knocked off Parkersburg South twice 5-1, 6-1. Chelsey Hager struck out 13 in a two-hitter and went 2 for 3 with an RBI in the first game for the Vikings. Ashley Mellinger doubled and drove in three runs for Ripley (19-8) in the second game and Nicole Landis had a pair of hits to lead South.
