CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Arik McGinnis, one of the top baseball players for state-ranked Valley, is questionable for the postseason because of a thumb injury on his right (non-throwing) hand. He's undergoing therapy.
"I don't want to say he couldn't play,'' said Greyhounds coach Joe Craffey, "but then again, I don't know if he can take a throw from the catcher.''
McGinnis leads Valley in hitting at .474 with four homers and 37 RBIs. As a pitcher, the left-hander is 2-3 with 57 strikeouts in 31 innings.
