Cody Mitchell carried 24 times for 193 yards and three touchdowns Saturday afternoon as Point Pleasant capped an unbeaten regular season with a 31-21 win over Lewis County.
The Big Blacks, 10-0 for the second time in three years and unbeaten in the regular season for the fourth time in school history, saw their lead evaporate to 24-21 when Malik Conway of the Minutemen ran 68 yards for a score with 3:55 left in the game.
However, Point was able to whittle off precious time with its next drive, which ended with a 7-yard Mitchell TD run to bump the lead back to 10 with 1:14 to go.
Cody Marcum added 132 yards on 10 carries for the Big Blacks and Aden Yates hit on 5 of 11 passes for 60 yards with one interception.
Mark Metzgar ran 16 times for 60 yards for Lewis and Skyler Carlton completed 7 of 14 passes for 61 yards.
Tyler Vernatter also helped a Logan ground game that rolled up 415 yards on the ground by carrying 17 times for 115 yards and two scores.
