After senior Luke Hrapchak put the Polar Bears on the board first with a 13-yard touchdown run, Norman's four passes contributed to a 42-8 halftime lead. Two of Norman's TD passes were to Neil Scherich, who totaled 107 receiving yards and gained 163 on the ground.
But Norman, who finished with 223 yards passing and five touchdowns (four passing and one rushing), suffered an ankle injury in the second half and was taken from the field in an ambulance.
The Fairmont defense, led by Hrapchak in the middle, allowed 140 yards of total offense in the first half. Fairmont Senior had 378 through the game's first 24 minutes.
