Aaron Lewis' 16 points led a balanced show Thursday night as Buffalo rebounded with a 74-54 boys basketball victory over visiting Sherman.
Also for the Bison (6-2), Laythen Good scored 14 points, John Hodges 11 and Isaiah Robinson 10.
Buffalo hit six 3-pointers after going 0 of 13 from distance in its previous game, a 60-43 loss to unbeaten St. Joseph on Jan. 7.
Research by coach Chuck Elkins revealed that to be the first time since the 3-pointer was adopted in the 1987-88 season that the Bison didn't hit a single trey in a game.
"Since that rule started until the other night,'' Elkins said, "we'd had one in every game. So I guess we made history, but that's not one you want to be remembered for.''
The Tide (3-3), playing just its second game since Dec. 27, received 16 points from Blake Brewer and 11 from Corey Smith.
