West Virginia's coaches are apparently beginning to make some headway in establishing the building blocks for a new offensive line with two commitments this week.
Russell Haughton-James is a 6-foot-5, 280-pounder from American Heritage-Plantation in Florida who committed to the Mountaineers after backing off of a commitment to Minnesota. Haughton-James, rated a three-star recruit by Rivals.com, decommitted from Minnesota after coach Tim Brewster was fired. Brandon Jackson is a massive 6-5, 330-pounder from Cleveland powerhouse Lakewood St. Edwards.
West Virginia now has three verbal commitments from offensive linemen, the other being Parkersburg's Justin Johnson. The national signing period for football begins Feb. 2. West Virginia currently has 16 players expected to sign that day. Six others are already enrolled.
