6-5 guard to join WVU as preferred walk-on
Advertiser

The West Virginia men's basketball team has added guard Aric Dickerson as a preferred walk-on for the 2011-2012 season.

Dickerson graduated from Lincoln Park High School in Chicago before attending one year at St. Thomas More Prep School, the same school that produced former Mountaineers Devin Ebanks and Dan Jennings. The 6-foot-5, 175-pound guard grew 10 inches in high school and, because he had to change his game on the fly, was not heavily recruited.

"I played with the [Mountaineers] and did really well and went to dinner at Coach Huggins' house with some guys from the team, and they asked if I wanted to be a walk-on next year," Dickerson said. "It's something that I want to do and it's hard to say no to."
