One of the services that rate recruiting, Scout.com, considers the current Mountaineer class No. 28 nationally.
But the coaches in Morgantown aren't finished. Sources say that, aside from sealing the current commitments, Dana Holgorsen's staff is trying to sign at least six others, including a couple of four-star players.
Currently, WVU has the word of 21 players, not including the five - defensive tackle Imarjaye Albury, quarterback Ford Childress, defensive backs Karl Joseph and Sean Walters and wideout Jordan Thompson - who enrolled early.
Among the others targeted:
Deaysean Rippy, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound four-star outside linebacker from Sto-Rox High in McKees Rocks, Pa.
Rippy has been looked at by schools such as LSU, Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Michigan, Iowa and USC. It was thought he might be a Gator, but that apparently fell through. Since then, he's put on his Twitter account he's down to Arizona, Pittsburgh and WVU.
Joel Caleb, a 6-2, 205-pound four-star wide receiver from Clover Hills High in Midlothian, Va.
Caleb is down to WVU, Virginia Tech and Ohio State, with all making final pushes. One report claimed Tech assistant Shane Beamer was to visit him Friday. Caleb visited WVU this past weekend.
The receiver, listed as an athlete, is ranked as the nation's No. 84 overall recruit by Rivals.com. Others to have offered include Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State and Georgia.

Adam Pankey, a 6-5, 300-pound three-star offensive lineman from Hamilton High in the Cincinnati area.When Todd Graham left Pitt, WVU asked Pankey to reconsider his commitment to the Panthers. It might pay off. Others to have offered include Illinois and Louisville.
Travares Copeland, a 6-foot, 180-pound three-star wide receiver from Treasure Coast High in Port Saint Lucie, Fla.Copeland has been a quarterback for Treasure Coast and received offers from schools like Rutgers, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State and South Florida.
Daniel Gray, a 5-11, 175-pound three-star cornerback from Boyd H. Anderson High in Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.A blazing fast corner (he reportedly ran a 4.34 40-yard dash), Gray once committed to Kansas and once to Tennesee. A terrific prospect.
Teko Powell, a 6-2, 290-pound two-star defensive tackle from Miami (Fla.) Norland High.Powell once gave Illinois a "soft verbal" and had offers from Louisville, Rutgers and Wisconsin.
