WVU unveils system to prioritize ticket requests

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia University's athletic department is implementing a system to prioritize donors seeking tickets for football and men's basketball games.

The university has sent information to supporters detailing the program that will assign points for athletic donations and purchases.

WVU says the system will be used this year for road and postseason games for football and men's basketball, new season ticket orders for basketball and those wishing to upgrade.

The system won't kick in until 2013 for supporters wishing to get new or upgraded season football tickets.

Mountaineer Athletic Club Executive Director Matt Borman says annual donations will remain the first factor in determining ticket allocations. He tells The Dominion Post that the points system adds another layer to the process.
