WVU football freshmen enrolled in classes

The first wave of West Virginia's incoming freshman football class is enrolled and attending classes.

According to the school, 16 scholarship players and two invited walk-ons are in school and have begun summer workouts.

The scholarship players are running back Torry Clayton, long snapper John DePalma, safeties K.J. Dillon and Jarrod Harper, defensive linemen Korey Harris, Noble Nwachukwu and Eric Kinsey, linebacker Garrett Hope, tight end/slot receiver Will Johnson, kicker Josh Lambert, offensive linemen Tony Matteo, Tyler Orlosky and Adam Pankey, cornerback Brandon Napoleon and receivers Devonte Robinson and Travares Copeland.

The walk-ons are linebacker Justin Arndt of Martinsburg and receiver/running back Sam Eggleston, who went to high school with freshman quarterback Ford Childress in Houston.

With five freshmen enrolled since January, that leaves seven yet to arrive - defensive lineman Christian Brown, running back Roshard Burney, receivers Dee Joyner, Devonte Mathis and Deontay McManus, cornerback Nana Kyeremeh and linebacker Sam Lebbie.

Also, two of WVU's men's basketball recruits are enrolled - Eron Harris and Terry Henderson. That leaves only Elijah Macon still to arrive.
