West Virginia football coach Dana Holgorsen said running back Shawne Alston will not make the trip to play at Texas on Saturday.

Holgorsen made the announcement on his weekly coach's show Thursday evening and cited Alston's thigh bruise as the reason the junior from Hampton, Va., will not be with the team at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium for WVU's first game against Texas since 1956.

Alston is the Mountaineers' second-leading rusher with 185 yards and three touchdowns on 30 attempts this season.
