WVU adds 5 to sports school's Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame at West Virginia University's College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences inducted five new members Friday night in Morgantown.

  • Linda Carson, a retired professor and the founder and CEO of Choosy Kids LLC
  • The Rev. George Nedeff, a former WVU wrestling coach who is now parochial vicar at St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Robstown, Texas
  • The late Sam Pinion, a former Mountaineer football player who developed the fundraising group that preceded the Mountaineer Athletic Club
  • Leon Ryan, general manager for Blazer IMG Sports Marketing
  •  n Alfred Purello, a retired Air Force veteran and attorney who still practices law in New York.

     The award for 2012 Outstanding Alumnus goes to Stephen L. Douglas, CEO of the WVU Alumni Association.
