WVU's Bailey named to All-America Team

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- There was good news and a touch of bad for West Virginia University's football program on Friday.

The good news was that junior receiver Stedman Bailey was named to the first team of the 69th Football Writers Association of America All-America team.

The bad news was Bailey's teammate, Tavon Austin, did not make the team. Had Austin made the list (which consisted of just one team), he would have been declared a consensus All-American by the NCAA. The organization recognizes five such teams: the Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association, FWAA, Sporting News and Walter Camp units. According to WVU football sports information director Mike Montoro, since Kent State's Dri Archer made the FWAA team, he, not Austin, will be a consensus pick.

At receiver, USC's Marqise Lee and Baylor's Terrance Williams are consensus picks.
