CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia University's Harrison Musgrave was named a finalist Thursday for the College Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher of the year award.
The sophomore, who was a standout at Bridgeport High School, is one of 22 players on the list from around the country. Musgrave, who has been named the national pitcher of the week twice this season, owns an 8-1 record with a 2.14 earned run average in 13 starts and 76 strikeouts. He has three complete games and three shutouts and is on a seven-game winning streak. Musgrave has a 5-0 record with a 1.02 ERA and 61 strikeouts in 53 innings in Big 12 play.
