CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Buffalo scored the game's first two touchdowns -- on Jordan Tucker runs of 28 yards each -- but Wirt County dominated thereafter for a 48-14 home victory in high school football Friday night.
Wirt County (2-4) kept the ball on the ground, rushing for 395 yards on 53 carries, led by Jake Linville's 133 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. Wesley Valentine contributed 106 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries.
For Buffalo (0-7), Tucker picked up 103 yards on 17 carries. The Bison finished with 297 yards rushing and passing.
WOODROW WILSON 27, PARKERSBURG 26: Chase Hancock accounted for more than 140 total yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions to lead the Flying Eagles past the visiting Big Reds.
Hancock's touchdowns came on a 24-yard run and a 28-yard catch. Troy Lilly added two touchdowns for Woodrow Wilson (3-3).
For Parkersburg (2-4), Aaron Roberts scored two TDs, including a 1-yard run with 11 seconds left, but the 2-point conversion run was stopped short. Roberts finished the game with 81 yards on 14 carries.
RAVENSWOOD 53, BRAXTON COUNTY 16: Ravenswood scored the game's first seven touchdowns in a victory at Braxton County.
The Red Devils' Devon Crews rushed for 193 yards on just 12 carries and scored three TDs, including a 7-yard pass from Heath Burgess. Burgess also threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Isaac Crow.
Braxton's Chase Oney scored on runs for 5 and 1 yard, and Jared Pitchford rushed 13 times for 69 yards.
Ravenswood improved to 4-2, and Braxton dropped to 1-6.
