Seven levels of weekly grounds badges have been set up for gaining admission to the Greenbrier Classic, scheduled for July 26-Aug. 1 at The Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs. They range from $49 to $5,000 and include different amenities.
All badges include access to practice rounds Monday through Wednesday that week and the tournament itself, which runs Thursday to Sunday on the Old White course, as well as admission to one or all of three concerts being staged at the new outdoor amphitheater at the State Fair grounds in nearby Fairlea.
The $49 badge includes admission to the July 28 Reba McEntire concert.
The $69 badge includes admission to the Reba concert and the July 29 show featuring Rascal Flatts.
The $79 badge includes admission to the July 31 concert with Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.
The $147 Grounds badge includes admission to all three concerts, a $99 room rate for a future Greenbrier stay, a round of golf on the Greenbrier course for $100 or a complimentary round on the Meadows course and a one-time 15 percent discount voucher for Greenbrier Classic merchandise purchases.
The $275 Benefactor badge includes all of the Grounds badge benefits, plus access to special air-conditioned hospitality tents located around the course, which include restroom facilties and the sale of food and beverages.
The $495 Alumni badge includes all of the Benefactor badge benefits, plus entry into special alumni hospitality areas for fans of West Virginia, Marshall, Virginia or Virginia Tech. Those areas offer unlimited tailgate-type food selections and nonalcoholic beverages, as well as guest appearances from celebrity staff and alumni. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
The $5,000 Clubhouse badge features all the benefits of the Alumni badge, including admission to all Benefactor venues and all four alumni areas, as well as access to The Greenbrier Clubhouse and Slammin' Sammy's with unlimited food and drink. Also includes two additional tickets to all three concerts, a complimentary two-night stay voucher and $1,000 in special amenity vouchers.
Fans can also help their favorite schools or organizations raise money while purchasing admissions badges, but that program ends today. All badge levels detailed above are available in this program, and 30 percent of the proceeds from each purchase go to one of seven groups - the alumni associations of WVU, Marshall, UVa or Virginia Tech, or the WVU Children's Hospital, the WVU College of Business and Economics or the West Virginia Golf Foundation.
In addition, weekly parking permits at the State Fair grounds are available for $30, with complimentary daily shuttle service provided to the tournament main entrance. Parking is $10 per day otherwise. No drop-off or walk-up traffic is permitted at the tournament.
Badges may be purchased through Ticketmaster, Live Nation and Kroger stores and United Bank branches throughout the state. Purchases can also be made online at www.greenbrierclassic.com, at the Greenbrier Classic Official Tournament shop at the resort or by calling 1-800-453-4858.
