FAIRLEA, W.Va. -- A spokeswoman for The Greenbrier resort says fans attending concerts this weekend at the State Fairgrounds in Fairlea need to arrive early to avoid traffic congestion.
Traffic was backed up on Interstate 64 heading into Lewisburg long past the 8 p.m. start time for Thursday night's concert featuring Tim McGraw and Luke Bryan.
Spokeswoman Lynn Swann said Friday that gates open for weekend concerts at 4 p.m. The concerts include the Black Eyed Peas tonight and Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert on Saturday night.
Swann says transportation officials met with local law enforcement Friday to try to come up with ways to ease the congestion, including placing more officers on traffic duty.
Similar problems occurred last year at the concerts that are being held in conjunction with the Greenbrier Classic golf tournament.
