WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. -- Police are searching for the people who vandalized the Old White golf course at The Greenbrier resort during last week's Greenbrier Classic tournament.
Greenbrier officials are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those who defaced the No. 5 green on the Old White course, according to a news release from the resort.
State Police and the Greenbrier County Sheriff's Department are looking into the matter. Neither would say anything Friday, citing the ongoing investigation.
The vandalism took place during last week's tournament, said resort spokeswoman Lynn Swann. Swann said she could not provide details about what type of vandalism was done because she did not want to hinder the investigation.
She said the area in which the vandalism occurred is frequented by guests, "depending on the time of day."
Anyone with information is asked to call State Police at 304-647-7600 or the Greenbrier County Sheriff's Department at 304-647-6634.
