2 W.Va. rivers on list of nation's most endangered

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Two West Virginia rivers are on a national group's list of the most endangered waterways in the country.

American Rivers released its annual list Wednesday. The group says the Gauley River is threatened by mountaintop removal mining, while pollution from gas drilling threatens the Monongahela River.

American Rivers urged federal and state regulators to protect the rivers from pollution resulting from mining and drilling.
