Deputies arrest fugitive naked from waist down

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A man wanted for failing to appear in court turned himself in to police on Thursday wearing only a camouflage top.

Kanawha County sheriff’s deputies were seeking Eden Holt Wolfe, 34, of Gallagher, for failing to appear in Kanawha Circuit Court in connection with transferring and receiving charges and a warrant for brandishing a weapon.

On Thursday, Wolfe called deputies and told them he was willing to turn himself in, according to a news release issued by Kanawha County Sheriff’s Cpl. Brian Humphreys. He agreed to meet deputies at Standard Baptist Church in Gallagher, and according to the release, said he was “tired of running.”

Arriving deputies found Wolfe at the church wearing only a camouflage top and no other clothing, according to the release. Wolfe had scratches on his face, legs and arms. He told deputies he had been bitten by a snake after falling into a snake pit.

Paramedics took him to CAMC General Hospital before he was arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court. Wolfe was being held in South Central Regional Jail on Friday.
