A neighborhood watch meeting is scheduled for the residents of St. Albans Ward 2 for 7 p.m. April 8 at First Presbyterian Church, Kanawha Terrace and Pennsylvania Avenue. Jason Philabaun is in charge of the meeting.
The Sissonville Public Service District will hold its board meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the district office, 6438 Sissonville Drive.
The Fibromyalgia Awareness Group will meet from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday at FamilyCare Health Center, 116 Hills Plaza. Guest speaker will be Lonna Barker, of the Better Health and Wellness Ministry with the Universalist Congregation of Charleston. A homemade lasagna dinner and auction loosely based on the show “Storage Wars,” will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday at Christ Church United Methodist, 1221 Quarrier St. Tickets are $20 for adults and $8 for children under 12. Proceeds support the 18th annual Regional Teen Institute, which will take place June 25-28. The leadership camp for middle school youth; which emphasizes drug, alcohol, tobacco, teen violence and teen pregnancy prevention. It is directed by Adolescent Health Initiative of the United Way of Central West Virginia. Tickets can be purchased at the South Charleston Antique Mall, 617 D St., or United Way of Central West Virginia, Court and Smith streets; or call Margo Friend at 304-541-5639. The nonalcoholic event, offers meat and vegetable lasagna and food cooked and served with bottled water. Auction services are provided by Mountaineer Auctions and catering by AAA Catering. An epilepsy awareness walk will take place from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday beginning at First Baptist Church of Dunbar, 311 16th St., Dunbar. Registration will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. The walk is free, but donations will be accepted to benefit the Epilepsy Foundation.
