No charges likely in fatal Jackson County wreck, sheriff says
FAIRPLAIN -- Jackson County Sheriff Tony Boggs said charges would probably not be filed in a crash that killed one man and injured nine, including four children, last week in Fairplain.
Boggs said investigators believe John Abbot, 22, of Ripley, pulled his vehicle in front of an SUV driven by Candy More, 35, of Ripley, at the intersection of Route 21 and Homer Smith Road in Fairplain on Friday.
Abbott was pronounced dead at the scene. Moore had four children in her SUV, who were taken to nearby hospitals and later released. Abbott also had three passengers who were treated and released, Boggs said.
