Richard Campbell Silman, noted architect, dies
Richard Campbell Silman, a Charleston native and architect who designed many buildings around the capital and throughout West Virginia, died Friday.
He was 86.
Silman designed the engineering building and the student union building at what was then the West Virginia Institute of Technology, in Montgomery.
He designed lodges at North Bend State park in Ritchie County and Tygart Lake State Park in Taylor County.
Silman founded the architecture firm R.C. Silman & Associates.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg.
