Argument in St. Albans escalates into a gunshot

By Staff report

Deputies say an argument in St. Albans Saturday escalated into a gunshot.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office has charged Kellie Arlen Hicks, 41, with three counts of wanton endangerment after he allegedly fired a 9 mm pistol down a hallway toward Zackary Santee and Rosehanna Plumley. According to the criminal complaint, Hicks was allegedly standing next to his wife, Melissa Hicks, when he fired the bullet, which lodged in a wall.

“Kellie caused risk of death or serious bodily injury to all parties in the residence,” Deputy T.J. Cumberledge wrote.

Hicks was arguing with Santee at their home at 410 Donna Drive when he went into a bedroom and brought out the gun, the complaint states. Each wanton endangerment charge carries up to five years in prison, a maximum $2,500 fine, or both.
