Kannapolis knocks off Power 8-6
Kannapolis’ Jacob Morris belted a two-run home run in the first inning off Power starter Shane Carle as the Intimidators secured an 8-6 win over West Virginia Tuesday night at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston.
Kannapolis, which never trailed in the game, also received offensive support from Kale Kiser in the form of a pair of doubles and an RBI. James Dykstra (2-2) earned the win for the Intimidators (8-9), allowing four runs on nine hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Carle (0-1) was tagged with the loss for West Virginia, giving up three runs (two earned) on six hits over five innings while striking out seven. Wyatt Mathisen led the offense for the Power (7-10), going 3 for 4 with two RBIs.
West Virginia will conclude its three-game series with Kannapolis tonight at 7:05.
