Crib drive

Bream Presbyterian Church will have a Project Safe Nest Crib Drive from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Donations of new cribs, bassinets, playpens and cash donations toward the purchase of a new crib are sought. Tax-deductible contributions are accepted at the Gabriel Project Office, Bream Presbyterian Church, 319 Washington St. W. Pickup service will be available. For information, call 304-414-4MOM.

Community hike

Charleston Montessori School will have a morning hike at 10:30 a.m. Saturday on the new Chilton Trail. Park at the trail head on Loudon Heights Road. This is the eighth of 10 hikes in the school’s annual spring Life’s a Hike series. For information, call 304-340-9000 or visit www.educatewv.com.

Trail club hike

Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike Sunday in the McDonough Wildlife Refuge. Meet at 12:30 p.m. to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. The hike is about 5 miles on rolling hills, with a 3-mile loop and a 2-mile loop. Choose both loops or one.

Historical society

The Upper Vandalia Historical Society will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Putnam County Board of Education office in Winfield, behind the old courthouse. This will be the first “show and tell” of the year. Bring items or photos interest of local history. Refreshments will follow the meeting. Bring a covered dish and friends. Debutante program

Beta Beta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority invites young ladies in the 8th through 11th grades to submit an application for the 2015 Debutante Cotillion, a scholarship program. An informational session will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at West Virginia State University, Wilson Union, Room 135-136, Institute. Application deadline is May 10. Candidates forum
