Area roundup: WVU men’s soccer adds two signees
West Virginia University men’s soccer coach Marlon LeBlanc announced the addition of Tolu Ibikunle and Michael Peprah to the 2014-15 recruiting class Friday.
Ibikunle played for coach Jonathan Rhodes with Continental FC Delco Academy this past season, where he scored two goals in seven games, and scored four goa;s in 16 games with 10 starts from 2011-13.
Peprah was a four-year letter winner for coach Jason Hall at Reservoir High School in Laurel, Md., where he scored six goals in 2013 and helped Reservoir win the Maryland 3A State Championship in 2012.
YOUTH SPORTS: The Capital City Striders track and field club will resume sign-ups and practice for the 2014 spring and summer session at 6 p.m. Monday at Laidley Field. n North American Youth Sports still has several remaining openings in its annual summer regional youth basketball tournament scheduled for May 30-June 1 at Parkersburg South High School in Parkersburg.
This tournament will feature 10 different brackets for boys and girls in grades 5-12. The entry fee is $250 per team and guarantees each team a minimum of five games.
