Trail club hikes

Kanawha Trail Club will have a Night Hike at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Kanawha State Forest. Meet at the Rattlesnake Trail parking area. This is an easy 2-mile hike. Hike up to Boundary Road on moderate terrain. Bring a light source. Other hikes this month include: Saturday, 10 a.m., Mary Ingles Trails. Meet at the swimming pool. Hike Davis Creek/Nature/Polly Hollow trails 3.0 miles.; and at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Mary Ingles Trails. Meet at the swimming pool parking area.) Hike the CCC Snipe/Mossy Rock/Middle Ridge/Ballard trails, 4.6 miles. A shorter version is offered: CCC Snipe/Shrewsbury Road, 1.5 miles.

Gun show/town yard sale

The town of Belle will have a gun show from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Belle Town Hall. The town will also have a town yard sale Saturday.

Race for the cure

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure will be held at 7 a.m. Saturday at the State Capitol Complex. Activities start at 7 a.m., race kicks off at 9 a.m. Fees are: Untimed walk/runner $20, students (18 and under) $15 and Sleep In (virtual participant) $25. The fee for timed runners is $30. Instructors needed

The Putnam County Parks and Recreation Commission is looking for instructors to teach classes. Anyone who has a trade such as cooking, sewing, exercise, dance, welding, etc. and would like to teach a class may call 304-562-0518.
