Brantley Gilbert in Charleston Friday
Brantley Gilbert first hit the country scene five years ago with his debut album, “Modern Day Prodigal Son.” His sophomore album, 2010’s “Halfway to Heaven,” featured the track “Dirt Road Anthem,” which rocketed into country fans’ consciousness when Jason Aldean released it as a single in 2011. (Gilbert co-wrote the tune with Colt Ford, who released the first version of it in 2008.) On May 19, he’ll release his third album, “Just As I Am,” and fans will likely get a taste of it at his 7:30 p.m. concert Friday at the Charleston Civic Center. There, he’ll be joined by Thomas Rhett and Eric Paslay. Tickets are $22.75, $27.75 and $35. Call 800-745-3000 or visit www.ticketmaster.com.
